Moondani Balluk is a culturally safe and supportive place for Aboriginal students and staff at Victoria University.
We deliver Aboriginal units and courses, including Aboriginal politics, traditions and policy, health and education using de-colonial approaches to learning and teaching. We also conduct research and provide support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
Moondani Balluk – Indigenous Academic Unit at Victoria University (VU), offers support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying at VU. We can help with applying for a course, accessing tutoring or getting financial assistance and scholarships.
Our strong background in education and engagement has helped many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students reach their full potential at VU.
VU has many courses you can choose from an undergraduate or postgraduate level, plus many short courses and tailored training for business and industry.
The Aboriginal History Archive (AHA) is based at the Footscray Park campus. The AHA is built around the Foley Collection. It houses items arising out of the Aboriginal Black Power, Land Rights and Self-Determination movements. It spans a century of activism from the 1920s onwards. Most of the material has been collected by Professor Gary Foley throughout his fifty-year career as an activist, performer, polemicist, historian and teacher.
Check out employment opportunities at VU in the Jobs and Training section of this website.
